Sweet Notes!

I love teaching elementary because my students make me feel like a rock star every day!!  Even when I'm feeling bad or not at my best, they still think I'm great.  Here are a few sweet notes that I have gotten over the past couple of weeks.

Name That Tune!

This week in music, 5th graders did an activity called Name That Tune.  They were given this:

First, they had to name all of the notes.  (we've been working hard to learn the Treble Clef notes)

Then, they chose a partner and an instrument.  They played each line on the xylophone and then guessed the name of the song!  They did great!!  I'm so proud of these musicians!!!

STOMP!

The Musician of the Month for November is STOMP!

STOMP is a group of percussionists who play music, but without any real instruments.  They find objects and use them in creative ways to make music!

It's almost Halloween!!

I love Halloween!  Last year we learned about Danny Elfman.  He is a movie composer who writes some pretty creapy music!  We watched this video last year in class.  And, I have had several requests for it this year.  So, check it out!!
